These are several images from a visit last weekend to Parvati Hill in central Pune. It was built by Nanasaheb Peshwa in 1749. The complex has several temples within it, dedicated to Parvati, Vishnu, Karthikeyan and Ganesh. We had a great afternoon there except three of us had our shoes stolen outside the temple. This is not completely uncommon–some temples have a guard who keeps the shoes behind a counter for a small fee, but there was no guard at Parvati the day we visited. Robin’s brand-new (and way too expensive) Adidas were among the casualties!
